Hanging out in Bidart and Guethary

June 30, 2011

The grey weather finally disappeared and the sun came back to the Basque Coast. Time for the beach, the kids say. This time we went to a smaller cove in Bidart so the kids could bodysurf and the adults could surf. Unfortunately the waves were all over the place so no surfing. But the kids had a great time bodysurfing.

After beach time, we went into our little town of Guethary, the "centre ville" being a mini-version of those in Saint Jean de Luz and Biarritz. We saw some teens playing an intense game of jai alai, which most of us had never seen before. We also went for dinner but all the places were still closed except for a pizza place and a bar. But being a friendly small town, we were able to order pizza and eat them at the bar with some good beers. We also visited a little surf shop called "No Job," surely something our Burning Man friends would appreciate. Then capped the mellow evening with ice cream, of course! More pictures of Guethary on my Zapd.
