Parents Night Out in Biarritz

June 27, 2011

NINA The kids wanted to stay home after a long and active day at the beach so we took advantage and had a parents' night out in the big swanky town of Biarritz, which is just north of Guethary. It's an amazing town and we wish we had more time here to explore it. We drove around before dinner and saw a few buildings that looked like French castles on the cliffs. Pretty impressive architecture. I wish I took pictures...

We found a great local bar/restaurant, Bar Jean, right next to the local farmers market. But lo and behold, it was a Spanish restaurant, which was fine, because the French are great cooks. The seafood is amazing and fresh, of course. Who would eat un-fresh seafood when you are in a coastal town?

Yummy, yummy tapas
